Torje Hougsrud Andreassen is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in competition and state aid. Currently serving at the EFTA Surveillance Authority since October 2022, Torje is part of the Chief Economist team. Previously, from November 2010 to October 2022, Torje held various positions at the Norwegian Competition Authority, including Senior Advisor, focusing on market monitoring in the food trade and health sectors. Additionally, Torje gained international experience as an economist at the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority for a brief period in late 2018. Torje began a career in economics as a research assistant at the University of Bergen, where educational qualifications were obtained from 2005 to 2010.
