Stefan Barriga is a legal expert with extensive experience in international law and human rights. Currently serving as a College Member (Vice-President) at the EFTA Surveillance Authority since October 2021, Stefan previously held the position of Deputy Head Of Mission at the Mission of Liechtenstein to the European Union from August 2016 to November 2021, focusing on legal and economic issues, including Brexit negotiations. From June 2002 to August 2016, Stefan served as Deputy Ambassador and Legal Adviser at the Mission of Liechtenstein to the United Nations, engaging in negotiations related to human rights and international criminal justice. Additional roles include Legal Advisor at the Austrian Federal Chancellery and Communications Officer at Amnesty International. Stefan holds advanced degrees in law from Columbia Law School and the University of Vienna.
