Francesco Tironi has a diverse range of work experience in the banking industry. Francesco began their career at Banca del Gottardo as an Event Manager from 2005 to 2008. Following this, they joined BSI Bank where they held multiple roles including Banking Platform Specialist from 2010 to 2012, Head of Authorization & Operation Management from 2012 onwards, and Head of Application Access & Support from 2015 onwards. In their most recent role, they joined EFG Bank as the Head of IT Service Management in 2018.

Francesco Tironi attended the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland from 2015 to 2018. During this time, they pursued a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in IT Management and Governance. Prior to that, between 2000 and 2005, they studied at USI Università della Svizzera italiana.
