Angel Yang

Manager at Efficio

Angel Yang has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They started their career at Michigan State University as a Research Assistant, where they researched properties of Polyelectrolyte Multilayer Membranes. They then worked as an SAT/ACT Tutor at Naperville College Prep, teaching and developing lesson plans for standardized test preparation.

Angel also gained research experience as an MIT International Science & Technology Initiative Fellow at Tsinghua University, where they researched inventory methods for a company called LightInTheBox.com. They continued their research work as an MIT International Science & Technology Initiative Fellow at The University of Tokyo, analyzing usage patterns of an On-Demand Transportation bus system for the elderly.

At Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Angel worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher, focusing on optimizing diabetes drug therapy and measuring microscopic quantities using cholesterol helical ribbons. They also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley, researching and evaluating contract design between Medicare and hospitals.

Angel's consulting experience includes roles at ZS Associates and Efficio. At ZS Associates, they were a Consumer Insights Associate, conducting market research for oncology products and managing project teams. At Efficio, Angel started as a Consultant and progressed to Senior Consultant and later Manager. In these roles, they focused on strategic sourcing and procurement for large, global clients, managing multiple complex categories and coaching stakeholders to develop sourcing best practices.

Throughout their career, Angel has demonstrated strong research, analytical, and leadership skills, and has experience in a variety of industries, including healthcare, education, and consulting.

Angel Yang completed their high school education at Naperville Central High School from 2005 to 2009, earning a High School Diploma. They then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2009 to 2013. Simultaneously, they also obtained a B.S. degree in Management Science from the MIT Sloan School of Management during the same period. Following their undergraduate studies, Angel Yang furthered their education at the University of California, Berkeley from 2013 to 2014, where they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
