Derek Peters is currently a Business Development Manager at EfficiencyOne, focusing on energy efficiency investments for the Government of Nova Scotia and its municipalities. Previously, Derek held various roles at Nova Scotia Power, including Manager and Advisor for Mi'kmaq Relations, and served as Mi'kmaq Energy and Mines Advisor at Kwilmu'kw Maw-klusuaqn Negotiation Office. Experience as a Program Coordinator, Research and Development Officer, and Energy Analyst at Clean Foundation further complemented Derek's career, alongside roles as a Research Assistant and Teacher Assistant at Simon Fraser University, where research on national and global energy issues was conducted. Educational credentials include a Master of Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University and a Joint Advanced Major in Biology and Business from St. Francis Xavier University.
