Elyse Benner has worked as a Senior Digital Design Engineer at EFFECT Photonics since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at ViaSat Inc. as a Hardware Engineer from August 2012 to March 2022, and also had a role as an Electrical Engineering Intern at the same company from May 2012 to August 2012. Before joining ViaSat Inc., they worked at GE Healthcare as an Electrical Engineer from August 2010 to August 2011.

Elyse Benner completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University from 2006 to 2010. Elyse then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, which they obtained from 2012 to 2016.
