Brett Banner serves as the Group Manager for Corporate Services at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) since May 2022. An independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee for NZ On Air since August 2011, Brett has extensive experience in senior financial roles, including Chief Financial Officer at both the Commerce Commission (September 2011 - April 2022) and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage (October 2008 - September 2011). Additional financial expertise is demonstrated through positions as Finance Manager at the Ministry of Justice - New Zealand and Acting Chief Financial Officer/Senior Corporate Accountant at the New Zealand Ministry of Defence. Earlier career roles include tutor at Victoria University of Wellington and auditor at Audit New Zealand. Brett holds certifications as a Chartered Accountant from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and possesses a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) along with a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting from Victoria University of Wellington. Currently, Brett is pursuing a PRINCE2® 2022 Foundation and Practitioner certification in Project Management from Axelos.
