Emma Dumain is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in covering Congressional affairs and energy policy. Currently serving as a Congress reporter at E&E News since May 2020, Dumain focuses on the politics surrounding energy and environmental policy on Capitol Hill. Prior roles include Congressional leadership correspondent and South Carolina correspondent at McClatchy, where coverage spanned key Congressional leaders and the South Carolina delegation. Dumain's experience also includes serving as a D.C. correspondent for The Post and Courier and working at Roll Call as a House leadership reporter. Early career experience was gained at Congressional Quarterly, where legislation and ethics were reported on. Emma Dumain holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Oberlin College.
