Auzimuth Jackson is the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at ESD 113. Prior to this, they were the Interim Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer at the University of Kent from February 2021 to September 2021. In this role, they were responsible for developing, supporting, and promoting university EDI initiatives aimed at creating an inclusive culture. This included analyzing organizational EDI data, policy, and procedures against reported student experience, including benchmarking against sector-level data; advising senior leadership on addressing identified gaps & shortfalls with wider strategic planning design; defining innovative, key performance indicators by developing scalable risk-mitigation metrics for EDI programs and processes, aligned with overall university mission objectives; leading cross-global campus network diversity education programs and services, including creating and delivering customized training programs by leveraging learning and development functions, and collaborating with stakeholders and external consultants (as appropriate) to integrate diversity principals into leadership curriculum; owning and managing budget associated with Student EDI Investment Fund allocated by Director Student Services; and chairing a range of network committees and liaison activities to ensure effective EDI communication across the Institution.
Auzimuth Jackson has a Ph.D. in African and African Diaspora Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Arts in African and African Diaspora Studies and Organizational Policy from The University of Texas at Austin, a Bachelor of Arts in (Political) Philosophy from Southwestern University, an Honors Seminar in Existentialism, Philosophy of Religion, Kierkegaard from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, a Portfolio--Certificate of Completion in Justice and International Human Rights Law from the Danish Institute for Study Abroad, and an Associate of Arts in General Studies/ Biotechnology from Temple College. Auzimuth Jackson is also certified by LinkedIn in Writing in Plain Language.
