Jen Kennedy has a diverse work experience in the field of education and international development. Jen started their career in 2000 as a Secondary School Teacher in the Peace Corps, where they worked until 2002. Jen then joined the Education Development Center in 2006 and held various roles including International Project Coordinator, Program Manager, and Deputy Chief of Party until 2012. In the same year, they became a Peace Corps Fellow at Teachers College, Columbia University. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as an 8th-grade Mathematics Teacher at PS/MS 279. Later, they joined Bronx Leadership Academy II as a Math Teacher and Department Lead from 2014 to 2016. Jen then returned to EDC as the Deputy Chief of Party from 2016 to 2017. Currently, they serve as the International Project Director at EDC since 2018.
Jen Kennedy holds a High School Diploma from St. Johnsbury Academy, which they received in 1995. Jen obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Studies from Colby College in 1999. In 2005, they completed their Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Development from the University of Denver. Jen also has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, which they obtained in 2014.
