Bill Potter completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and History from Willamette University from 1981 to 1985. Bill then pursued their Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, from 1990 to 1993. In addition, they also participated in the National Science Foundation Fellowship Program at The City College of New York from 1991 to 1992, focusing on Secondary Science Education.
