Christopher Duncombe currently serves as Principal and previously held the role of Senior Policy Analyst at the Education Commission of the States since January 2021. Prior to this, Christopher was the Policy Director at The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis from September 2015 to January 2021, where responsibilities included managing policy campaigns, leading advocacy efforts for public education, and presenting policy recommendations. Earlier experience includes positions as a Senior Associate Legislative Analyst at the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission, focusing on various research projects mandated by the Virginia General Assembly, and as an Administrative Intern in Onondaga County, where budget management and departmental liaison duties were performed. Christopher began a career path with an internship at the Environmental Finance Center, contributing to survey development and statistical analysis. Educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University and a BA in Sociology from Dickinson College.
