Jim Downie has a diverse and extensive work experience in the utility services and vegetation management industry. James (Jim) currently holds the position of Principal at EDM International, Inc. Since joining in November 2019. Previously, they worked at Environmental Consultants (ECI) from 2014 to 2019, where they served as President responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive vice president. Prior to that, they worked at Xcel Energy for over 24 years, holding various roles including Director of Vegetation Management & Ancillary Programs. Jim also gained experience as a Consulting Forester/Project Manager at ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC and started their career as a Crew Foreman at Asplundh Tree Expert Co.

Jim Downie earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Hartwick College from 1984 to 1988. Prior to that, they attended Oneonta High School between 1980 and 1984. Jim also holds a certification as an ISA Certified Arborist and Utility Specialist, but further information on the institution and date obtained is not available.
