Nadun Kulatilaka's work experience includes various roles in the field of systems safety engineering and operational research. From November 2021, they have been working as a Principal Systems Safety Engineer at Edge Case Research, contributing to large safety engineering efforts within customer systems engineering projects. Nadun's early work experience includes a role as a Software Engineer at Erica Lane Enterprises, Inc. from August 2008 to August 2009. Nadun'sresponsibilities included developing test reports and test cases to verify safety and software requirements, as well as tracking and auditing system configurations during testing.
Throughout their career, Nadun has demonstrated expertise in safety engineering, operational research, and project management, contributing to the success of various organizations.
Nadun Kulatilaka completed their Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems and Services at the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2008. Nadun also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution in the same year. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, which is expected to be completed in 2022.
In addition to their formal education, Nadun has obtained several certifications. Nadun achieved the DHS Operational Test Director (OTD) Specialization Certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in April 2021 and the Test and Evaluation Manager Level III Certification from the same department in March 2021. Nadun also completed the Human Error Analysis for Systems Safe certification at the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering in September 2019, followed by the certifications in Software Safety and Systems Safety from the same institution in May 2019 and February 2019, respectively. Prior to that, they earned a Software Safety Engineering Certificate from the University of Cincinnati in July 2014. Nadun obtained the Test and Evaluation Level II Certification from the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) in October 2011, and they acquired the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center - Test Officer Certification from the same institution in August 2010.
