Dr Tony Hamilton has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dr Tony started their career as a Consultant Geoscientist at Alastair Beach Associates Ltd. in 1997 and later worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at University College London. In 2001, they joined Enron Europe Ltd. as a Senior Specialist in Meteorology.
Dr Hamilton then transitioned to the energy trading industry, working as a Meteorologist at Hess Energy Trading Co. from 2002 to 2004. Dr Tony subsequently joined Citadel Investment Group as a Manager of Weather Research from 2004 to 2007.
From 2007 to 2011, Dr Hamilton held the role of Executive Director and Chief Meteorologist at Bear Energy, JP Morgan, where they built a global coverage weather desk and led the production of proprietary forecasts and weather analytics tools.
Dr Tony continued their career in the energy trading sector, working as a Lead Meteorologist and Quantitative Analyst at TransAlta from 2011 to 2013, and then as a Senior Meteorologist at Axpo Trading AG from 2013 to 2016.
Currently, Dr Hamilton serves as the Head of Meteorology at EDF Trading. Dr Tony'sextensive experience in meteorology, weather forecasting, and climate research has contributed to their expertise in providing accurate forecasts and supporting investment strategies in global commodities trading.
Dr Tony Hamilton earned their Bachelor of Science with Honors degree in Physics with Geology from Queen's University Belfast, which they attended from 1990 to 1994. Dr Tony then pursued their doctoral degree in Geophysics at Ulster University from 1994 to 1998, successfully completing their PhD.
