David Komar has over 33 years of work experience. David began their career in 1987 as a Platoon Leader and FS LNO for the US Army. In 1993, they became a Battery Commander for the US Army. From 2000 to 2008, they held various roles with the US Army, including Deputy Director, Force Design Directorate (ARCIC), Program and Force Structure Analyst, Senior Leader and Strategic Planner, and Organizational Change Integration Leader. From 2008 to 2011, they served as Director, CJ7 - NATO Training Mission - Afghanistan (NTM-A). From 2011 to 2012, they were the Director of Army Capabilities Development Directorate, Director of Army Business Operations, and Director, Mission Command Capabilities Development Integration Directorate (CDID) for the US Army. From 2019 to 2021, they were the Chief Executive Officer of Culture Guide. Currently, they are the Senior Executive Advisor for Kearney and President of EDA, Inc.
David Komar has a varied educational background. David attended Horseheads Senior High School from 1982 to 1983, then Lafayette College from 1984 to 1987, where they earned a BA in Business and Economics. David then attended Webster University from 1997 to 1999 and obtained a MA in Management. From 1999 to 2000, they attended USAF Air Command and Staff College and earned a MA in Operational Arts and Science. David then attended U.S. Naval War College from 2007 to 2008 and obtained a Master of Science in National Security Strategy. In 2015, they attended UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School for an Executive Development Program. Finally, they attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2016 and earned a Seminar XXI in National Security Policy Studies.
