Kara Briggs, MPA, currently serves as the Vice President of Tribal Lands and Waters at Ecotrust since September 2023. With extensive experience in strategic communications and planning, Briggs has led Red Hummingbird Media Corporation as President since September 2007. Previous roles include Interim Vice President at The Evergreen State College (2021-2023), Director of Government Relations for the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe (2020-2021), and Tribal Liaison at the Washington State Department of Revenue (2018-2020). As Director of Education for the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe (2017-2018), Briggs significantly improved the tribe's education department. Additionally, Briggs held positions at Pyramid Communications, the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, American Indian News Service, and co-directed the American Indian Policy & Media Initiative. Academic credentials include an MFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts and an MPA in Tribal Public Administration from The Evergreen State College.
