Dimitri de Preux is a lecturer and academic assistant at ECAL University of Art and Design Lausanne since September 2017. Concurrently, Dimitri serves as a Q&A moderator, translator, and editor for the Visions du Réel international film festival from February 2016. Previously, Dimitri gained experience as an assistant programmer in the film department at Centre Pompidou in 2014, providing research and curatorial assistance for the exhibition ‘Bertrand Bonello, Résonances’. As a curatorial assistant at Le Consortium in 2013, Dimitri contributed to the exhibition ‘The Photographic Object 1970’ through research and documentation. Additionally, involvement with the Oblò Film Festival from July 2011 to October 2012 included film selection for the festival competition. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts with Distinction in History of Art from UCL and multiple degrees in related disciplines from universities such as the University of Bonn and University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
