Ahmed Dahiru

Research Scientist, Epidemiology at EcoHealth Alliance

Ahmed Dahiru currently serves as a Research Scientist in Epidemiology at EcoHealth Alliance, focusing on biosurveillance for viral zoonoses in Southern Africa since May 2023. Previously, Ahmed held the position of Assistant Professor and Clinical Trial Coordinator at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, managing the WHO Solidarity Trial Vaccines from July 2021 to May 2023. As a Research Clinician at the Medical Research Council Unit in The Gambia from March 2020 to July 2021, Ahmed conducted a phase 2b trial on an ETVAX vaccine. Prior experience includes leading health and nutrition initiatives in Borno State, Nigeria, from February 2017 to February 2020. Academically, Ahmed holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maiduguri and multiple advanced degrees in Epidemiology, Public Health, and Disaster Risk Management, including a Ph.D. from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
