Ben Harrington has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Ben started their career in 2001 as an Events Co-ordinator at KDM Events, where they sold and managed corporate events for various clients. Ben then worked as a Sales Executive at Accor Services, initially managing accounts for Eyecare Vouchers clients and later focusing on acquiring new clients in the Greater London area.
In 2004, Ben joined Edenred (UK Group) as a Business Development Manager in Corporate Benefits. Here, they played a key role in business development activities, acquiring new customers and growing the existing portfolio. Ben successfully won several large, key accounts that significantly contributed to the company's portfolio.
In 2013, Ben founded Wrap Digital Ltd, an online marketing agency that helps businesses connect with their potential customers through social media and search marketing. With a mission to increase interest, enquiries, and sales for businesses, Ben provided expert guidance on harnessing the power of online marketing.
In 2016, Ben became the Managing Director of #BlueSocial Agency London, a social media management and marketing agency. Ben won ongoing contracts with national and international brands as well as start-ups and SMEs. Their agency offered various social media marketing options, including content management, paid advertising, and community support.
In 2015, Ben joined Ecocentric Energy as the Business Development Director - UK. Their role involved sales and implementation of Numen in the UK and European markets. Ben worked with businesses in sectors like facilities management, infrastructure engineering, energy, and construction to transform how they manage critical electrical assets and infrastructure.
Ben's most recent work experience is with Imperial College London, where they joined in 2019 as a member of the IDLES Management Board. As part of this role, they contributed to the Integrated Development of Low-Carbon Energy Systems (IDLES) program, which aims to facilitate a cost-effective and secure transition to a low-carbon future. The program focuses on developing a modelling tool for coordinating interactions within the energy domain and provides evidence to inform policymakers about optimal forms of future, integrated energy systems.
Ben Harrington attended Summerhill High School from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained 11 GCSEs with grades ranging from A to C, including Mathematics, English, and Science. Following this, they attended King Edward VI College Stourbridge from 1995 to 1997, where they pursued A Levels in Biology, Geography, English, and General Studies. Finally, they attended Keele University from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Geography.
