Sergey Smirnov has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sergey started their career at Esselte in 1996 as a Senior Software Programmer and worked there until 1999. From 1999 to 2009, they served as a Principal Software Engineer at NBS Technologies. In 2001, Sergey became the Owner of PIMEX Group, LLC. In 2010, they joined ECI Technology, Inc as a Senior Software Engineer. Currently, they are employed at Crestron Electronics Inc. in the Product Development role, a position they have held since 2014.

Sergey Smirnov obtained their Master's degree in the Department of Physics from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov (MGU) between 1979 and 1985.
