Siyao Shao is a technical cofounder at echosonic since December 2022, focusing on the development of a next-generation microphone for on-sensor audio recognition. In the role of Entrepreneur In Residence at TandemLaunch Inc. since February 2022, Siyao engages in technology scouting, due diligence, and narrative building for various projects related to optics and sensor technology. Prior to this, consulting at TandemLaunch Inc. involved similar responsibilities for advanced imaging and sensing technologies. Siyao's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where a postdoctoral research position was held as an NSF I Corp fellow. Earlier experience includes research assistant roles at both the Saint Antony Fall's Laboratory and the University of Minnesota, focusing on experimental fluid mechanics and data processing. Education history also includes a Bachelor of Engineering from Tongji University.
