Shakil Ahmed, PhD, EIT, is a Postdoctoral Fellow and Water Quality & Hydrologic Modeler at the Global Institute for Water Security since October 2022, focusing on integrated hydrologic and water quality models to assess land use impacts in the Canadian Prairie Pothole Region. As an Assistant Professor at East West University since January 2019, Shakil Ahmed has led research on water quality and hydrologic modeling using advanced computational platforms. Previous roles include Visiting Researcher at the International Centre for Climate Change and Development, and Assistant Professor at Islamic University of Technology. Shakil Ahmed has also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at West Virginia University and Florida International University, contributing to significant advancements in water quality modeling. Shakil Ahmed holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from West Virginia University and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
