Richard Harrison is an experienced professional in the field of education and quality assurance, currently serving as Deputy Secretary at the University of York since November 2022, and as a Quality Assurance Reviews - Lay Visitor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council since September 2024. In addition to these roles, Richard holds positions as an Award External Examiner at Arts University Bournemouth, Reviewer and Review Secretary at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, and Governor at East Durham College. Previously, Richard was the Academic Registrar at the University of Cumbria, and also held various significant roles at Newcastle University, including Deputy Director of Academic Services and Head of the Learning and Teaching Development Service. Richard's experience extends to contributions as an Executive Member of the Quality Strategy Network and an External member of the Standing Panel of External Specialists for New Programme Validation at Edge Hill University, along with involvement in the Procedures Task and Finish Group for the Architects Registration Board.
