Amy Jones, a true Louisiana girl, and product of public education were born in Alexandria, raised in Bernice and Walker, and then raised her children in Chalmette and finally Baton Rouge where they attended 7 EBR schools. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, followed by an Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology Management from Nunez Community College, and finally obtained a Masters of Liberal Studies in Networking, Information, and Telecommunication from Fort Hays State University, Kansas.
Amy has held CTTIE certifications to teach high school Computer Networking. At Nunez Community College, where she was an Assistant Professor of Computer Technology, she taught college/high school dual enrolment Cisco Networking Academy courses to students from Orleans and St. Bernard Parish public high schools. While teaching at Nunez, Amy was a nominee for NISOD Teacher of the Year, assisted program accreditation through SACS and NAIT, was National Technical Honor Society Faculty Advisor, served on the curriculum committee, wrote successful technology grants, and was a member of Faculty Senate. Her industry-based certifications include CCNA, CCNP, CCAI, A+, and Network+.
