Alejandro Gómez Chica is a GIS Carbon Specialist at Earthshot Labs since June 2023, previously serving as a Senior Specialist in Technical, NBS Projects for South Pole from July 2019 to May 2023, where responsibilities included the evaluation and application of ARR and REDD methodologies along with quantifying carbon removals and emissions. Prior experience includes working as a Forest Engineer at Geoambientes SAS from October 2015 to August 2016, focusing on managing germplasm recovery programs and conducting phenological studies. Alejandro also has a background as a research assistant and diversity analyst at Fundación Jardín Botánico de Medellín in 2014. Alejandro holds a Master’s in Systems Engineering and a degree in Forest Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, completed in 2019 and 2015 respectively.
