Lia Lajoie

Engineer II at EarthScope Consortium

Lia Lajoie is an experienced engineer specializing in geodetic instrumentation, currently serving as Engineer II at EarthScope Consortium since April 2022. Lia’s role involves coordinating logistics, installation, maintenance, and data flow for geodetic and meteorological instruments while addressing technical issues related to hardware and software. Previously, Lia held positions as Summit Site Supervisor at Polar Field Services, Inc., leading daily operations in Greenland, and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Montana, managing field operations for a significant research project on hydrologic loading. Lia also has experience in carpentry, glacier and permafrost research with the National Park Service, and served as a Sr. Staff Geologist at Fugro, contributing to various seismic assessments. Education includes a PhD in Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
