James Clement

Senior Vice President, Grass And Rangeland at EarthOptics

James Clement has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. James currently holds the position of Vice President and General Manager of Grass and Rangeland at EarthOptics, a soil data measurement and mapping company. James joined in 2023 and is responsible for creating accurate data maps of soil and providing insights for ranchers, farmers, and forestry managers.

Prior to their current role, James worked at King Ranch, Inc. where they held various positions. James served as a Land Resources Manager, overseeing renewable business development projects and maintaining financial models for surface use projects. James also acted as the Manager of the Horse Division, leading all aspects of breeding, marketing, training, and care for the King Ranch Remuda. During their time at King Ranch, James received several accolades and successfully initiated joint projects with historic ranches.

In addition to EarthOptics and King Ranch, James has also held positions at The Land Board, Corps Industries, Beggs Ranches, Bloody Buckets Cattle Company, and United States Marine Corps. Their roles have ranged from advisory board member to director and managing director, showcasing their versatility and leadership skills.

James began their professional journey as a Ranch Hand at Beggs Cattle Company in 2007 before transitioning to a similar role at King Ranch, Inc. in 2009. James also gained experience outside the ranching industry as the Men's Lacrosse Strength Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Goucher College.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated a commitment to environmental and land management, as well as their ability to work in diverse settings and lead teams.

James Clement's education history is as follows:

James Clement obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Goucher College, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed their High School education at The Episcopal School of Dallas from 1995 to 2002.

In terms of higher education, James completed the Expeditionary Warfare School at Marine Corps University, specializing in Military Joint Operations Planning and Strategy. James attended this program from 2017 to 2019.

From 2019 to 2021, James pursued a dual Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Their specialization within the MBA program was in business, and the field of study for the dual degree with Cornell is not specified.

Additionally, James has obtained several certifications. In 2022, they acquired certifications in Ranching for Profit from Ranching For Profit and Regenerative Agriculture from Understanding Ag, LLC - Experts in Regenerative Ag. In 2021, they obtained the Registered Landman (RL) certification from the American Association of Professional Landmen and a Certificate in Private Company Governance from the Private Directors Association®.

James also completed the Brand Management certification program from Cornell University in 2021. In the same year, they obtained certifications in Leadership Agility with General Casey and Volatility, Uncertainty, Confusion, and Agility Leadership with General Casey, both from Cornell University. In 2020, they completed the Director Training Program from the Private Directors Association®. Prior to that, in 2019, James completed the King Ranch Leadership Program: Board Training offered by King Ranch, Inc. In 2008, they achieved a Certificate in Advanced Ranch Management from the King Ranch® Institute for Ranch Management.
