Rebecca Shaw is a Research Fellow at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, focusing on conserving genetic resources in the British livestock sector. As a Doctoral Student at the Earlham Institute, Rebecca is engaged in Conservation Genomics of Mustelids through an ARIES & NERC funded studentship. Previous experience includes a role as a UKRI Policy Intern with Defra's Farming Science Evidence team, where Rebecca worked on science communication to inform policy-makers. Additionally, Rebecca has tutored Biology at Key Stage 4 with The Brilliant Club and served as a Research Technician at the University of Aberdeen's Institute of Medical Sciences. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Conservation Genomics from the University of East Anglia, an MSc in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law from the University of Glasgow, and a BSc in Biology from the University of Aberdeen.
