Daria Golubova

PHD Student at Earlham Institute

Daria Golubova is a PhD student at the Earlham Institute since March 2021, working on the biosynthesis of triterpenes in UK Asteraceae under Nicola Patron's group. Daria's research focuses on elucidating biosynthetic pathways of plant natural products through phylogenetics, metabolomics, genomics, and transcriptomics, as well as gene characterization and structure-function analysis of biosynthetic enzymes. In addition, Daria is a co-founder of MVPea, a startup in the food biotechnology sector, aiming to create healthy and affordable food products using innovative technologies. Previous experiences include participation in the i-Teams program at the University of East Anglia, an internship at The University of Edinburgh, and a master's project developing synthetic receptors. Daria holds a Bachelor's degree from MIREA-Russian Technological University, a Master's degree in Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology from The University of Edinburgh, and is pursuing a PhD in Engineering Biology at the University of East Anglia.
