Luke Steffen has a diverse range of work experience. Beginning in 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at Purdue University, collecting gas samples for analysis. Luke also worked as a Worship Assistant at Sunrise Christian Reformed Church, where they created slideshows for Sunday worship services and organized music for the worship team.
In 2016, Luke worked as a Detailer at Nissan of Lafayette, detailing cars for customers and maintaining the sales lot. The following year, they returned to Purdue University as a Research and Development Assistant in the Department of Agronomy. In this role, they cleaned image data using Python and Eclipse IDE and assisted with data collection in the field.
From 2018 to 2019, Luke served as an Intern at C Span Archives, where they integrated facial recognition and created AI models for topic recognition in video streaming. Luke primarily used PHP, JavaScript, and Python for coding.
In 2019, Luke worked as an Intern Developer at Evonik, collaborating with the IT department to deploy a new software system for the plant site. From 2020 to the present, Luke has been employed at Boeing as a Software Engineer. Luke has worked on the C-17 Training Systems, supporting weapon system trainers for the United States Air Force and international clients. Their responsibilities have included making mission computer systems compatible with little endian servers and developing new functionality for avionics simulations.

Luke Steffen attended Faith Christian School from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained an Honors Diploma. After that, they enrolled at Calvin University from 2016 to 2020. At Calvin University, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. In March 2022, they obtained a certification in Security+ from CompTIA.
