Dan received his PhD in Neuroscience from UNC-Chapel Hill. In his dissertation work he used a variety of viral genetic approaches to perform anatomical tract tracing and probe brain circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders. Prior to joining Dyno, he did a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University where he used AAV-based gene delivery to reduce protein aggregation in a model of Parkinson’s Disease. He particularly enjoys using automated approaches to analyze large microscopy data sets.
