Yang Wong has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in the field of data science and research. Yang is currently serving as a Research Lead at dYdX. Prior to this, they worked at Coinbase as a Data Science professional. Before joining Coinbase, Yang worked at Lyft as a Data Scientist in the Autonomous Vehicles division. Yang also gained experience as a Data Scientist at Affirm, Inc.
Yang's academic background includes a PhD in computational physics with a minor in Computer Science from Stanford University. During their time at Stanford, they conducted research in computational physics for energy applications, resulting in two first-author Journal of Computational Physics papers.
Furthermore, Yang has held internships at QRI in the field of Quantum Technologies, as well as at Halliburton as a Reservoir Management Intern. Yang also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Auckland and as a Software Developer at School Sims.
Yang Wong attended Stanford University from 2010 to 2015 where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science. Yang then pursued further education at Stanford University from 2013 to 2019 and earned a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Computer Science.
