Tiis van der Werf is an Ingenieur Mechatronica at Dutch United Instruments, specializing in form metrology for optical components at a nanometer scale since November 2022. Previous experience includes coaching development rowers at D.S.R.V. "Laga" and managing external affairs for the rowing society, along with competitive rowing training. Tiis has held internships focused on improving stepper motor performance at Hittech Group and material testing at Airborne. Academic contributions include mentoring students at Delft University of Technology and assisting in the development of a MOOC in Robotics. Tiis holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and completed high school at Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden.
