Mike Walker has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Mike started their career in the US Army as a Cavalry Scout in 1987 and served for a decade before transitioning into the role of Career Counselor. During their time as a Career Counselor, Mike demonstrated strong leadership skills and managed a team of three senior-level Talent Retention professionals. Mike also conducted complex analysis and issue resolution, contributing to effective project effectiveness and program assessments.
In 2012, Mike attended the US Army Sergeants Major Academy, where they graduated in the top 20% of their class. As a student, they excelled academically, achieving a 3.7 GPA. Following their completion of the academy, Mike took on various roles within the US Army, serving as a Program Manager for Human Resources Operations and Retention in different divisions and locations. Mike successfully led program initiatives, provided comprehensive guidance on regulations and policies, and exceeded retention goals.
In 2017, Mike joined Southern Dock Company as the Director of Operations-Dallas. In this role, they effectively led the daily operations of the company's flagship division, achieving impressive financial results. Mike increased labor efficiency and surpassed the Division's Return on Sales goal, generating over 1.3 million dollars in profit annually.
Later in 2017, Mike transitioned to DuraServ, initially serving as the Director of Safety & Training. In this role, they played a crucial role in ensuring employee safety and training, contributing to the overall success of the organization. Mike then progressed to the role of Vice President of Training, where they continue to utilize their expertise to develop and implement training strategies.
Throughout their career, Mike has exhibited exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills, enabling him to thrive in their various roles.
Mike Walker earned a Master's Degree in Management, Organizational Leadership from the American Public University System from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the same institution, completing it from 2005 to 2011. Mike also holds a Certificate in OSHA 30 from OSHA Education. Most recently, they pursued an AA in Occupational Safety and Health from Waldorf University, attending from 2019 to 2020.
