Winnie Hou has a diverse work experience history. Winnie started their career as a UX/UI Design Intern at Insyde Software in 2019. In 2020, they worked as a Marketing and Project Management Intern at Acer. Following that, they joined IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group as a Product Design Intern and later became a Product Designer & Social Media Marketing Specialist. In 2022, they worked as a Seasonal Sales Associate at Reformation before taking on the role of a Pre-Doctoral Teaching Associate at the University of Washington Information School. Most recently, in 2023, they interned as a Product Design Intern at Duolingo.

Winnie Hou completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Washington from 2019 to 2021. During the same period, they also pursued a Minor in Informatics at the University of Washington Information School. Building upon their undergraduate education, Winnie is currently enrolled at the University of Washington Human Centered Design & Engineering program, pursuing a Master of Science degree in Human-Centered Design and Engineering from 2022 to 2024.
