Kushal Patel has been working as a Software Engineer at Duolingo since July 2020, and has recently been promoted to the role of Software Engineer 2 starting from October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Peer Mentor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they provided mentoring and teaching assistance to undergraduate students in the CS407 course. Kushal was responsible for leading and teaching students in weekly labs and office hours, as well as developing new lab assignments, examination problems, and grading rubrics. Before that, Kushal worked as Production Staff at Wisconsin Union and as a Soccer Referee at Recsports. Kushal Patel completed their education in a chronological order. Kushal started by attending St Theresa's School in Mangalore from 2004 to 2014, where they obtained an ICSE degree. Following this, from 2014 to 2016, they attended Expert Pre University College in Mangalore, but the degree obtained and field of study are unknown. Then, from 2016 to 2018, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Finally, from 2018 to 2020, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Kushal Patel also obtained several certifications. Kushal completed a Diploma in Android Programming at the Manipal Institute Of Computer Education. Kushal also received certifications in Machine Learning and Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera.
