Kathleen (Katie) C. began their work experience in 2017 as part of the Women's Technology Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During this time, they gained skills in computer science and electrical engineering through various projects. In 2018, Katie worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Caltech, where they conducted research on Deccan volcanism and measured organic carbon content in marine sediments.

In 2019, Katie had multiple roles at Caltech. Kathleen (Katie) served as an Office Assistant at the Caltech Center for Inclusion and Diversity, where they promoted events and organized supplies to create a more inclusive campus community. Kathleen (Katie) also worked as an Advancement Ambassador at the Caltech Fund, where they solicited donations and connected with alumni to update them on undergraduate life at Caltech. Additionally, Katie was selected as a Chung Ip Wing-Wah SURF Fellow, where they automated testing for a machine learning algorithm and rescaled heartbeat data for testing signals using Excel and MATLAB.

In 2021, Katie interned as a Software Engineer at Duolingo, and in 2022, they transitioned to a full-time role as a Software Engineer at the same company.

Kathleen (Katie) C. completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science at Caltech between the years 2018 and 2022. Prior to that, they attended SOCES from 2014 to 2018, but the degree and field of study pursued during that time are not specified.
