David Whitemarsh is an experienced maritime professional with over 30 years in the Ocean Sportfishing Industry, primarily operating out of the Columbia River. Currently serving as Captain at Dunlap Towing Company and Pacific Salmon Charters since 1985, David also held the position of Chief Mate at Sause Bros. Ocean Towing from July 1998 to August 2007. Prior experience includes various roles as a Crew, Captain, and Engineer in the self-employed sector from June 1982 to July 1998, focusing on commercial fishing methods such as crabbing, trawling, longlining, and salmon and albacore fishing on the west coast and the South Pacific. David's educational background includes degrees from the Pacific Maritime Institute, Clatsop Community College, and Houston Marine Training, where David completed multiple maritime classes and obtained various licenses, including a 100-ton Ocean Operator and a 500-ton home study course.
