Mäkinen Riku has held various roles in the finance and business sector since 1996. Mäkinen'scareer began at Schenker East, where they were Director of Information Management and Business Controller. In 2000, they moved to SCA Packaging StP Russia as General Manager and Finance Director. In 2002, they became Director of Russian Operations at Peterson Packaging Oy. In 2003, they joined Valtra do Brazil / Agco as Finance Director. From 2006 to 2011, they were Senior Vice President of Finance and Controlling at Rautaruukki Oyj, Ruukki Metals. Since 2018, they have been President of Ductor EMEA at Ductor Corp.

Mäkinen Riku is currently enrolled at the University of Tampere.
