Josh Leibstein has a strong background in Android development, with experience in various senior roles. Josh is currently working as a Senior Android Engineer at DuckDuckGo since 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Android Developer at Standard Bank Group from 2016 to 2021, where they were involved in the development and maintenance of banking/wealth solutions for Android.

Before Standard Bank, Josh worked as a Senior Android Developer at Britehouse Mobility (Dimension Data Group) from 2014 to 2016, where they contributed to Android development projects. Josh also worked at Seecrypt Group Inc as a Senior Android Developer from 2013 to 2014, where they developed the Android version of an end-to-end encrypted VOIP and messaging solution.

Josh has also co-founded Binary Eclipse (Pty) Ltd in 2012, a mobile software development company that focused on an eGov solution for mobile devices. Josh developed and pitched the Android prototype of the solution. Additionally, they had a brief experience as a Presenter and Facilitator at Vodacom in 2013, and as a Software Developer at Resolution Circle from 2013 to 2013.

Early in their career, Josh worked as a Researcher at HyperVision Research Lab from 2010 to 2012, where they focused on image processing and developed techniques for Tuberculosis detection. Josh also served as the Head Assistant at the lab from 2012 to 2012.

Josh Leibstein has a strong educational background in engineering and information technology. Josh obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Johannesburg in an undisclosed year, but their education at the university continued until 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Technology from the University of Johannesburg, which they pursued from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, they also earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors in Information Technology from the same institution.

In addition to their formal education, Josh Leibstein has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills. Josh completed the "Learning Google Flutter for Mobile Developers" course from LinkedIn in September 2019. In October 2018, they achieved a "Computer Vision Nanodegree" from Udacity. Furthermore, in September 2017, they became a "Unity Certified Developer" through Unity Technologies.
