Jason Dorweiler has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Jason began their career as an Organic Chemist at LKT Laboratories, Inc. in 2009 and remained there until 2012. Jason then transitioned to L'Oréal as an Analytical Chemist for a few months before moving on to ExxonMobil Research and Engineering as a Research Chemist from 2012 to 2013. In 2014, Dorweiler joined DuckDuckGo as the Lead Privacy Engineer, where they are currently working.

Jason Dorweiler attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry. Jason later pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemistry at the same university. Additionally, Jason also studied Computer Science at Oregon State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.
