Younchan Ku has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. From March 2023 onwards, they will be working as a Scientist in the Formulation Sciences & Drug Product Development department at DTx Pharma. Prior to that, they worked at Emergent BioSolutions, starting as a Senior Research Associate in September 2019 and later becoming a Principal Research Associate from January 2021 to March 2023. At Emergent BioSolutions, they were involved in various aspects of product development, including analytical assay work, vaccine formulation, and stability studies. Before that, they worked at Eton Bioscience, Inc. as a Part-time Lab Technician, where they performed DNA sample analysis and troubleshooting for DNA sequencing. Prior to that, they were an R&D Associate Scientist at Chemtron Biotech Inc., where they focused on developing immunoassays for drug testing. Youchan began their career as a Research Assistant at The Scripps Research Institute, working on bacterial expression and viral crystallization projects.

Youchan Ku completed an Associate's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Pasadena City College from 2009 to 2012. Afterwards, from 2012 to 2014, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from UC San Diego, specializing in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Currently, from 2022 to 2024, Youchan is enrolled in the University of Maryland Global Campus to obtain a Master's degree in Biotechnology Management.
