J.T. Johnson has extensive work experience in the field of weather technology. J.T. started their career in 1986 as a Team Leader at the National Severe Storms Laboratory. In 1995, they worked as a Science and Operations Officer at the Olympic Weather Support Office. In 2000, they co-founded Weather Decision Technologies (WDT) and served as the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing software development and weather products and service operations. J.T. held this position until 2018. At WDT, they coordinated skills and processes for developing and implementing weather technologies for enterprise and consumer industries. In 2018, J.T. Johnson joined DTN, where they initially worked as the WDT CTO until 2019. J.T. then became the Sr. Director of Platforms and Apps, and later, the Senior Director of Weather Technology.
J.T. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 1989. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Meteorology from the same university and completed it in 1992. In addition, J.T. Johnson holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance.
