Nelson Villarroel is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in asset integrity and project management within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer for DTE Energy since 2021, Nelson specializes in distribution integrity management and engineering analysis. Previous roles include Senior Engineer Consultant for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where risk analysis and integrity management for gas transmission pipelines were key responsibilities, and a Senior Engineer Consultant at CITGO, focusing on integrity engineering support for pipelines. Nelson has also held leadership positions, such as Director of Engineering & Asset Integrity at G2 Integrated Solutions, and has a solid foundation in regulatory compliance and engineering practices from tenure at various companies including Xcel Energy, PDVSA, and Lennar. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Carabobo.
