Nasser Marafih is an accomplished telecommunications executive with extensive experience in leadership roles. Since November 2015, Nasser Marafih has served as Vice Chairman and Member of the Board at Ooredoo Group. Prior to this, Nasser Marafih was the Group CEO of Ooredoo Group (formerly Qtel) from February 2001 to November 2015 and held the position of Strategic Planning & Development Director at Qatar Telecom (Qtel) from February 1994 to January 2001. Early in the career, Nasser Marafih was an Assistant Professor at the University of Qatar from January 1986 to February 1994. Nasser Marafih holds a Doctor of Science in Telecommunication Engineering, a Master of Science in Telecommunications, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering, all obtained from The George Washington University between 1980 and 1991. Currently, Nasser Marafih is retired since January 2020.
