Burton Putrah has extensive work experience in the field of drone technology and spatial analysis. Burton started their career as a GIS Technician at the University of Vermont Spatial Analysis Lab, where they were responsible for managing databases and creating maps for non-technical users. Burton then worked as a GIS Analyst at the Utility Risk Management Company, where they played a key role in creating and managing aerial imagery and maintaining data vendor relationships.
In 2010, Burton joined the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics as an Environmental Analyst/GIS Manager. Burton worked on various projects related to environmental analysis and GIS management. Burton then moved to the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation, where they served as a Project Assistant. Here, they assisted businesses in upgrading their lighting fixtures to energy-efficient options and provided support to energy consultants.
From 2012 to 2014, Burton worked as a GIS Specialist at Toole Design Group, LLC. In this role, they conducted cartography, analysis, and editing of pedestrian and cyclist transportation networks. Burton also worked on transportation planning and demand analysis using ArcGIS.
In 2014, Burton joined Arlington County as a GIS Analyst, where they coordinated GIS data between different departments and attended regional GIS meetings. Burton also worked closely with local and state departments of transportation to address public safety concerns.
From 2017 to 2020, Burton worked at Measure, an aerial intelligence company, in various roles. Burton started as the Director of Data Operations, responsible for project management and data product development. Burton was later promoted to the role of VP of Data Engineering, overseeing the processing, analyzing, and delivery of drone-collected data.
In 2020, Burton joined LS Technologies, LLC as an Engineer/Technical Project Manager. In this role, they led system engineering efforts for projects related to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and extensible traffic management systems.
In 2021, Burton joined AirMap as a Senior Product Manager, where they led product management efforts for UTM products and services. Burton also served as the Agility Prime Product Lead, focused on developing testing cases and integrating UTM products for various UAS programs.
Currently, Burton is Senior Product Manager at DroneBase, where they are responsible for solar products.
From 2005 to 2009, Burton Putrah attended the University of Vermont, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Burton'sstudies focused on Geography, Sociology, and Geospatial Technologies.
