Wayne Young, Esq. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the legal field. Wayne is currently serving as the VP of Compliance at DRIVRZ Financial since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Mortgage Legal at Tomo Mortgage from 2021 to 2022, where they provided legal and regulatory guidance for product development teams and supported engineering and marketing teams.
Before that, Wayne worked at Caliber Home Loans, Inc. as the Vice-President/Associate General Counsel in 2020, where they provided legal support and advice to executive and division leaders. Wayne also handled federal and state regulator inquiries and examinations, and reviewed and approved marketing creatives.
In 2019, Wayne worked as a Compliance Counsel at OPENDOOR LABS INC., where they played a critical role in building the compliance and regulatory framework for the startup online mortgage lender. Wayne was responsible for compliance oversight, development of policies and procedures, and handling regulatory examinations.
Prior to that, Wayne served as the Director at USAA, leading the governance team responsible for reviewing commercial and supply chain contracts. Wayne also provided legal support and oversight for contract administrators.
From 2015 to 2017, Wayne worked as a Senior Counsel at Reverse Mortgage Solutions, Inc. Wayne was responsible for real property transactions, drafting contracts and agreements, and managing company litigation.
In their earlier career, Wayne served as Associate General Counsel at Fannie Mae from 2009 to 2014. Wayne managed complex litigation and provided legal support for real estate transactions. Before that, they worked as Litigation Counsel at Dow in 2008.
Wayne started their career as a Senior Associate at Powers & Frost, LLP from 2001 to 2007.
Wayne Young, Esq. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Indiana State University. Wayne then went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree in Law from the South Texas College of Law Houston. In addition to their formal education, Wayne holds certifications such as the Certified Mortgage Compliance Professional (CMCP) from the Mortgage Bankers Association, and they are licensed to practice law in the states of New York and Texas.
