Jeff Ricards has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jeff worked as a Data Scientist at DreamHost from November 2016 and also served as a Data Science Intern during the same time period. Prior to this, Jeff worked as a Producer, Recording Engineer, and Mixing/Mastering Engineer at Tamarindo Podcast from January 2016.
Before their role at Tamarindo Podcast, Jeff was self-employed, working as a Math Tutor, Freelance Sound Designer, and Mixing/Mastering Engineer in the Education and Music industries. Jeff had over 10 years of teaching experience in Mathematics and held the position of Director of School of Engineering at University High School (LAUSD) for 6 years. In the Music industry, Jeff had 15 years of experience in electronic music production, recording and creating sounds for music production, and mixing and mastering music.
Jeff also worked at LAUSD, starting in August 2008 as the Director of the School of Engineering at University High School. In this role, they successfully managed grants and coordinated curriculum and faculty. Jeff also built connections with engineering professionals for volunteerism in the school. Additionally, Jeff worked as a Math Teacher at University High School, teaching various mathematics classes and basic engineering classes.
In their early career, Jeff was the owner of Relentless Audio, a drum and bass record label where they handled various responsibilities such as distribution partnerships, writing press releases, label promotion, artist management, mixing and mastering, financial duties, website development, and tour management. The label released music in both vinyl and digital formats worldwide.
Jeff Ricards graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. In 2003, they pursued further education at California State University, Fullerton and obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics in 2005. In 2016, Jeff completed a part-time Data Science Program at General Assembly and received a Certificate of Completion. Additionally, they obtained a Data Science Course Certificate of Completion from General Assembly in October 2016 and a State of California Teaching Credential in August 2012.
