James Davey has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Shift Trader with Drax Group since December 2017, where responsibilities include real-time balancing of gas and power positions and managing balancing mechanism strategies. Prior to this role, James was a Market Analyst at Drax Group, contributing to the company's transition to biomass-fuelled power production. James also held the position of Client Services Business Analyst at Ameresco, where the focus was on developing financial forecasts and managing complex projects for clients. Earlier academic roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow and PhD Student at the University of York, specializing in semantic cognition and neural architecture. James holds a PhD in Psychology, an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience, and a BSc in Neuropsychology, all from the University of York and the University of Central Lancashire.
